FAQs
Where is the Date Night & Intimacy Program located?
Date Night & Intimacy is online, four Zoom sessions of an hour each.
There will also be two in-person sessions, one in Portland, OR on October 28th, 2025, and one in Philadelphia, PA in April 2026.
How much does Date Night & Intimacy cost?
Date Night & Intimacy is FREE to all participants, couples and singles. Our program is supported by a community grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation and a grant from Penn Medicine Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Center. You will also receive a free Welcome Packet when you register.
Are sessions private or in group settings?
The four Zoom sessions are in a limited group setting of 10-12 participants. In addition, singles and couples will have one private, online session with sex therapist Dr. Kelly Rees, co-director of the program.
Who is meant to benefit from the Date Night & Intimacy program?
Both couples and singles living with Parkinson’s will benefit from this program. Long-married partners can learn to reconnect and learn new intimacy skills; those who are widowed, divorced, or unmarried can learn ways to start a new relationship, without letting a Parkinson’s diagnosis stop them.
How does the Date Night & Intimacy playing card game work?
These cards offer prompts and suggestions for starting an intimate conversation (Tell Me), demonstrating your wishes (Show Me), and practicing physical/sensual/sexual activity (Touch Me). After shuffling the deck, each partner selects a card at random and practices whatever the card suggests with a partner. For singles, this is a great icebreaker!
